Rafael Aguirre, has more than 36 years of professional investigative experience. He was employed by the United States Government for more than 24 years. He served in the United States Army, the Miami Police Department and the U. S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration.
Mr. Aguirre developed and participated in investigations at the domestic and international levels involving the importation, manufacturing and distribution of illicit drugs and related activities, including money laundering. He served as a Supervisory Criminal Investigator directing the investigative activities of senior federal investigators.
During Mr. Aguirre’s career with the Department of Justice, he traveled extensively throughout Latin America, including permanent assignments to the U. S. Embassies in Bogotá, Colombia and La Paz, Bolivia. His commitment, resourcefulness, fluency in Spanish and extensive knowledge of overseas operations contributed to the detection and arrests of hundreds of dangerous drug felons.
Upon retirement, Rafael Aguirre received a commendation from DEA Administrator Thomas A. Constantine in recognition of his dedication. While assigned to Colombia, Aguirre personally initiated 30% of the criminal investigations in that country.
Since retiring in 1998, Mr. Aguirre has provided investigative and security consulting services worldwide, including matters detailing liabilities and areas of concern to international corporations. Mr. Aguirre is fluent in Spanish.
